Common Questions

Quick answers about plate matching, custom cars, custom bikes and RideSMP's client-side behavior.

No. RideSMP matches a custom model to the specific vehicle plate, so another vehicle using the same GTA model can keep its stock appearance or use a different custom model.
The current v1.0.2 workflow is plate-keyed, so you do not need to rename the DFF/TXD pair just because the runtime /dl vehicle ID changes.
Cars and SUVs go in custom_vehicles. Motorcycles and BMX models go in custom_bikes. The two systems are kept separate internally as well.
No. RideSMP is client-side. Other players see whatever their own client is configured to display.
RideSMP is focused on client-side custom vehicle visuals. The v1.0.2 architecture preserves native vehicle behavior, including F/G entry, re-entry and H/drive-by behavior.
Bikes use a separate internal mapping and loader path. Custom wheel, fork and suspension geometry is applied while native bike lean, steering and wheel spin remain active.
Use /reloadvehmodels for custom_vehicles and /reloadbikemodels for custom_bikes. This keeps the automobile and bike model systems isolated during reloads too.
The current target is GTA San Andreas 1.0 US with SA-MP 0.3.DL R1 on Windows x86.
